Virtual COM Port Driver VCom

Description

The virtual COM port driver simulates a serial interface on a PC. The data sent to this serial interface from any kind of application are forwarded to a connected INSYS IP device via a TCP/IP connection, as if a direct serial or modem connection would be existing.

In this way any section may be bridged via existing networks without the need for a modification of existing systems (readout software, configuration software, etc.). The application „sees“ only a conventional modem path or a serial connection, but communicates via a TCP/IP network. The VCom device driver may work both in the mode of TCP client (building up a connection) and in the mode of TCP server (accepting a connection).
